Transitions For Jumping | Matt Brown | PART 01
14m
Part 1: Matt asks the rider to warm up, focusing on steady gait and rhythm rather than frame. He prompts her to keep her elbows following the motion of the neck and work on maintaining the connection. They uses transitions to create focus when the horse gets distracted. When the mare gets fussy, Matt keeps the focus on riding through it and maintaining the rhythm, while keeping the bit still in her mouth. As the horse tends to get tight, he encourages the rider to swing her hips and move her body in the saddle to help promote relaxation. They work on lengthening and shortening the stride without the mare losing balance.
