Part 3: Mark challenges the riders with a course, consisting of bending lines and incorporating lead changes. They have to use their line of sight and focusing on the middle of the fences to ensure they make the lines, while riding forward between fences and maintaining straightness. Mark supports a rider in getting the lead change by explaining the horse is unable to do a flying lead change when against the hand, and when the rider is standing in the stirrups. He addresses this by having her set up earlier and use half halts rather than holding the rein. Mark reminds the group of the importance of knowing their own horse, his stride length and what it takes to get their best jump.
