Rider Positions For Cross Country Questions | Boyd Martin | PART 02
17m
Part 2: Boyd focuses on selecting the correct position for each fence on a course walk. He allows the riders to get a feel for this by having them jump a fence that requires a more forward position then coming to a coffin type jump that demands they stay back. They continue around the course jumping into the water and out onto a mound which proves challenging to see a stride to. Boyd coaches the riders to worry less about stride and more about balancing and riding forward in the water to the base of the hill then allowing the horse to pop up. As they continue around the course, horses and riders gain confidence in riding forward.
