Maintaining Straightness In Stadium Jumping | Doug Payne | PART 01
9m 25s
Part 1: Doug uses the concept of keeping the neck straight to assist the rider in staying straight into the fence. He asks them to think about moving the withers over rather than the head, which facilitates making smooth turns and staying on the line. He encourages the rider not to hold her exuberant mare back, but maintain a soft hand, let her come forward effectively and allow the the fence to hold her off. They pair this with making effective turns without losing the shoulders and begin to see real results with the rider being able to maintain straightness even while riding through fast turns and tough lines.
