Jumping Fundamentals | Brian Sabo | PART 06
13m
Part 6: As they begin the cross country section of the lesson, Brian introduce the riders to the 95% rule which states when you have a post and rail construction obstacle, such as a log, house or bank, 95% of the time the horse will get too close to the first element. He discusses how the riders should prepare for this by being slightly behind the movement with their reins ready to slip, then asks them to try the line with this in mind. As his predictions come true, Brian impresses upon the riders of planning ahead and riding to what they know will be the most likely outcome. The riders jump a line with a log, bank and drop into water focusing on balance, power and straightness.
