Gymnastics for Jumping | Johnathan Holling | PART 03

Part 3: The riders each jump around the course while Ian observes and then discusses their riding and their horse, with each of them. One rider's horse almost jumps an additional jump when she's slow to react, providing Ian an opportunity to remind her about the importance of her eye in setting the correct line. He encourages the rider to be lighter in her seat and pick the horse up off the bit to avoid getting into a battle of strength when she gets impetuous, and the pair jump much better. Ian works with a rider to encourage her to keep her lovely mare between her leg and hand, and help her out a little more over the fences. Ian urges the riders to practice jumping at speed at home, so the horses are more prepared to work against the clock in the stadium when competing.
