Galway Symposium | Christopher Bartle | PART 04
13m
Part 4: Christopher brings the session together with a canter exercise over cavaletti that demands the riders use everything they've practiced so far to completed a successful flying change. They focus on using the position statement to pick up and maintain a correct canter, rather than using the reins. Christopher increases the difficulty, adding in oxers on a figure eight. The riders work on maintaining rhythm, keeping a medium canter, and using their hips to ride the canter and turns rather than the rein. Christopher adds in a circle to be ridden like part of a dressage test, then sends them back to the jumps - reminding them the dressage should not be left in the dressage arena, but rather it should be at the forefront in between fences.
