Part 1: Boyd notes the horse tends to get crooked on take off in order to give himself more room to jump. He adds some poles to guide the landing and works with the rider to focus on staying square on approach and square in position. As straightness improves, Boyd brings focus back to balance, rhythm and riding correct turns. He works with the rider to stay steadier when approaching a fence, rather than seeing a stride and powering at the jump.
