Laura Graves begins with a slightly nervous mare by warming the pair up in a trot and asking the rider to change her tempo and look to the inside when she spooks. They look for more length in her body and relaxation. When they go to the canter they incorporate single loop serpentines to the quarter line and Laura points out that this mare is quite flexible so she would recommend schooling her in shoulder in to help her create stability from the hindquarters to the bridle. The walk work starts with asking for variations in the walk.
