Cross Country | Jimmy Wofford | PART 04
6m 36s
PART 4: Jimmy Wofford continues his cross country lesson by talking to the riders about the importance of not overjumping. He explains that their jumping position doesn't need to put them out of the saddle any more than regular posting trot would. Jimmy prefers this lower position with a still body, as it keeps the rider and horse's centers of gravity closer together which reduces the risk of mishap. Working first over very small fences, the riders warm up. Jimmy emphasizes the importance of getting everything going smoothly at this level before progressing. Jimmy has one rider jump in a bicycle grip on the reins, to reawaken her muscle memory and improve her connection.
