Clearly on the Aids PSG | Steffen Peters | PART 02
16m
They reverse direction and continue with the walk pirouette. Steffen asks to ride the horse ( Steffen removes his microphone before he gets on. The rider wears it later as she watches him ride.) He begins by repeating the same exercise at the walk, using his leg for a short push rather than a kick. He asks the mare to canter and uses the aid for three strides. He explains how the breaks to the trot offer a training moment, and eventually asks for haunches in on the circle as she collects. Steffen changes directions and again points out the spur is to be used as an educational tool, not the main supporting aid. When she offers a bit of resistance to going forward Steffen applies the aids, but makes a point of taking the pressure off when she responds correctly by going forward. He is able to get her to step more under herself and collect, and then repeats the haunches in on the circle at the canter before doing single changes.
