Bend and the Outside Rein - Bend and Flexion | Lisa Wilcox | PART 02
7m 11s
Olympian Lisa Wilcox continues working with a horse with a strong underneck to develop a better topline. The horse needs to bend in ribcage to be able to stay on the outside rein. Her reins are the same length, she explains, but the outside rein is farther up than the inside reins to allow the horse to flex to the inside. Along with making sure the horse engages his hind end, this helps with his throughness. She also works on transitions between gaits and within the gaits, maintaining the outside rein and bending, while using her driving outside leg.
