They return to the walk pirouettes and Steffen asks the rider to raise her standards so the horse moves off her calf, not her spur and points out how raising her expectation to the response to her aids will improve the more difficult movements. He has her ride the canter half passes from I1 keeping this lightness of the aids in mind. They circle after the half pass and collect to a canter that could do the half pass, but continue forward out it on the circle. Steffen points out how this could help them earn a 9 on their first transition in the test on the centerline from canter to halt. Tempi changes are next; first the threes then the twos. The trot transition afterward becomes more complicated, and Steffen has her ride some forward-and-back transitions at the trot, looking for the horse to be more honest in the downward transition. He concludes by encouraging her that she can make this change of responsiveness to her aids in only a few days and raise her scores easily as a result.
