In the next round, Stacia Klein Madden wants to see how easily the horses go forward and come back to each line. She also wants to make sure the horses stop straight at the end of the course. Stacia wants riders to focus on straightness and giving a big release over the jumps but keeping the reins short enough to be able to balance the horses back to get a tighter line.

To finish the lesson, Stacia Klein Madden has the riders do a trot jump into a combination followed by stopping straight. She feels that stopping straight at the end really requires the horse to listen to the rider. This exercise works on rideability which is important when doing gymnastics.
