Stacia Klein Madden reminds us that when preparing for competition there are only so many different elements they can practice. The lines she has set up in this outside course mimics a previous competition course combining cavalletti, bending lines, a water jump and different striding to the lines. The riders start with part of the course. Stacia is looking for straightness, landing on the canter lead they need next, and/or making balanced changes.

To finish the lesson, Stacia Klein Madden has the riders do a trot jump into a combination followed by stopping straight. She feels that stopping straight at the end really requires the horse to listen to the rider. This exercise works on rideability which is important when doing gymnastics.
