True Connection Part 1
Rider Position and Aids
•
14m
Laura works with this pair on achieving true connection. They begin by establishing contact by rewarding her when she's on contact, and making it uncomfortable when she isn't. Laura encourages the rider to have closed fingers with an elastic elbow to create a consistent feel. She has him do a small leg yield out before each transition, and reminds him that if he makes a correction by bumping with the leg, he has to allow with the hand at the same time.

True Connection Part 3
Laura helps the rider with some questions about his ride during tests. She offers that the work they are doing in the canter will help in the test as well as the better connection they have developed. They work on the stretchy circle, asking the mare to keep taking the bit.
