Humble in the Bridle | Laura Graves | PART 02
Rider Position and Aids
•
14m
Laura explains her ideal training schedule for young horses. This youngster shows a little spookiness and they work through that gently. Laura emphasizes that the rider needs to get a forward reaction when an aid is applied. She asks that the rider keep him straight and give forward. They help him find his balance in the canter by activating his hind end. Counter flexion when going to the left helps, and they also spiral out on a circle at the trot without overusing the left rein to help him learn to stand up straight even on a curved line.
