Sacha Hamilton introduces us to another Para rider, Marie, who is rated a grade III, and explains how her cerebral palsy causes a weakness on her left side as well as a spatial awareness problem. She points out her reins have added loops and she also rides with toe caps on the stirrups. They have also added a bar to the saddle to help Marie keep from crossing her hands over the withers. Through riding and other physical activities, they work on her straightness as she rides. Sacha encourages Marie to make forward transitions and to use lots of half halts. They create inside bend and confirm it before asking for the canter depart.
