Laurens rides a five year old Dutch Warmblood gelding getting ready for a young horse competition in two weeks. He is learning to relax in new environments, offering us the chance to see how he schools the horse without emotion. The session begins with noticing where the horse wants to carry himself and starting the warm up form there. Laurens describes his use of the aids and the timing needed to be effective. He does small transitions within the trot with control over the tempo and the balance of the horse using small aids. He describes his plans for the horse and how his sensitivity at this point is to be expected. As he canters he keeps the forward with an uphill tendency.
