Lilo has them perform a 10-meter trot circle with a walk transition on the wall, and then ride forward in almost a jig before trotting again down the wall. This progresses to a 10-meter trot circle to a very small trot down the wall.

Janet talks through the geometry of the canter zig zag with special attention paid to getting a horse with this big of a stride to get the strides in.  With greater response from the outside leg, the zig zag improves.
