When they reverse direction the challenge is to keep him straight. They repeat the leg yield exercise in this direction and let him stretch in the canter while keeping a strong core. Now that he is totally warmed up, they can ask him to come through the neck while being responsive. They work on the sitting trot a couple of steps at a time so keep the quality of the trot. As this improves they also ride the shoulder in, leg yield and half pass in the sitting trot. They rise for the medium, making sure it doesn't get faster instead of bigger. The session ends with a stretchy trot.
