Nancy now has them do a leg yield along the wall with the head to the wall. This helps the horse to learn to step underneath himself and loosen the lower back. When they go to reverse directions they freshen up the response of the horse to the leg, making sure he moves forward to the almost trot. The leg yield to the other side shows great crossover. In the trot they work on having equal weight on the front and the back legs with the neck lower. Nancy gives great direction on the use of the aids to create the right trot with the horse under the riders' center of gravity. As he warms up at the trot they ask him to move uphill into a steady contact with a bigger trot.
