Grand Prix dressage trainer Silva Martin coaches three riders through their dressage tests, which include 15 meter circles, medium gaits and stretchy trot circle. She emphasizes straightness, bending and accuracy of their figures. She gives tips to improve transitions between movements and gives pointers on rider position that will help the horse. Silva reminds everyone to remember that accuracy is very important when riding a test. “There’s no point throwing points away,” she says. “Most of the time you have control of accuracy while there are plenty of other things that are less in your control.”
