As the second horse rides the entrance to the test he shows quite a bit of tension, and Janet offers useful strategies for getting the best ride in these circumstances. Debbie helps this Appaloosa rider with being behind the leg. They work on a circle getting him through on the outside rein and reactive to the leg- a great lesson for us all. Debbie recommends that the rider try wearing a spur rather than use a whip when asking him to be more forward. Janet explains how this issue can prevent a rider from advancing to First Level. Debbie works with the first rider on cantering a circle while staying round. When she asks the rider to pet him he stretches and becomes rounder. They continue working on using the outside rein and inside leg.
