Kim talks viewers through how to engage the young horse when first working on the flat and diverting any lost attention back to the rider. Through use of forward and lateral movements, Kim gains the focus of the horse which is rewarded with relaxation of the rider’s aids. While working through the acceptance of contact with the young horse Kim talks viewers through the use of a light contact and use of the leg yield to better move off of the rider’s leg on the flat.
