The colonel works the horse walking and stopping next to him without hanging on to the reins to check and see if he is paying attention to the rider. He gives a review of the method of using the work in hand in training. The rider then takes over working the horse in hand. The horse shows a great improvement in concentration and they are able to to work the trot.
