Part 4: Brian Sabo works with a rider whose horse gets tense in his back when she sits in the saddle. He shares the 'Dorothy Crowell move' with the group, in which the rider moves their hips in motion to match the canter or the gallop as they come down from galloping position and into the saddle. The rider tries this out as a tool to prevent her horse from hollowing and becoming tense as she moves between positions in the saddle. Brian explains that a lot of eventing riders have a mental blockage around flying changes and half pass, and he works with the group to take the power away from this. He has the group employ positive self talk and the riders have visibly better jumps as they work on mental flexibility and decision making to ride the approach, not the landing.
