The welfare of the pony and how they are feeling about their work is of utmost importance in the training, and Peter has this foremost in his mind while deciding how to run a training session. After a walk break they continue with the trot work, making sure he is in front of her leg in the walk before asking for the up transition. They do some half steps to improve the elevation in the trot. Peter then explains the use of the whip before they do some mediums. When he shows signs of fatigue they stretch and finish the ride.
